7 Days 7 Ways
A week of playgrounds, thunderstorms, ice cream stains, and surprisingly good outfits
A new edition of 7 Days, 7 Ways has just landed in your inbox. Every Sunday, I share seven outfits from my week – the combinations that survived real life, changing weather forecasts, long walks, coffee spills, and last-minute plans. Consider it a weekly wardrobe diary: part outfit inspiration, part personal experiment.
It’s Sunday, and I’m tired. Very tired. The week was eventful, and my outfits reflect that – not in a going-out-every-night kind of way, but in a I have neither the time to iron nor the mental capacity to think about getting dressed kind of way. The kind of week filled with cooking for daycare, grocery runs, a never-ending pre-holiday to-do list, rushing to pick up a child, and spending what feels like entire afternoons stationed at the playground.
The result? Almost everything you’ll see below is currently sitting in my laundry basket. Covered in dirt, sand, melted ice cream, or some combination of all three. No risk, no fun. So I’m washing, washing, and washing some more to make sure my favourite pieces are ready for takeoff, because I’m heading to Copenhagen for 3 Days of Design. Which means next week’s Closet Diary should be a particularly interesting one. Dressing for temperatures somewhere between 10 and 30 degrees is exactly the kind of challenge my wardrobe loves to keep me humble with.

MONDAY

Anyone who read Frosso’s newsletter might recognise this outfit. I had styled almost the exact same look for her for 24h in Paris. I liked it so much that I immediately copied it for myself. Not for Paris. Not for a dinner reservation. Not for anything remotely glamorous, really. Just for a perfectly ordinary Monday.
Although, to be fair, it wasn’t entirely ordinary. I got to spend the entire day with Leonie Pauls, from morning until evening, and that did more for my soul than any outfit ever could. She’s one of those friends who lives slightly too far away for my liking. The kind of person you wish was around for spontaneous coffee dates, random Tuesday walks, and all the little moments in between. So getting a whole day together felt like a real luxury.
The outfit was great. The company was even better.
TUESDAY

This may have been the least inspired outfit of the week. And honestly? Looking back, it wasn’t my best work. But we keep things realistic around here, and not every outfit can be a triumph. There’s something about the T-shirt that just isn’t doing much for the look. And the necklace, while perfectly nice on its own, doesn’t really make sense with the trousers.
In my defence, I was in a rush and busy sorting out approximately one thousand holiday-related things for my son. Fashion was not at the top of the priority list.
Looking at it now, I think I would have preferred a black shirt instead (which would be very useful if I actually owned one) and skipped the necklace altogether. Or, alternatively, kept the top and swapped the trousers for a simple white pair without any texture.
WEDNESDAY

Is it practical for the playground? Absolutely not. Do I care? Not particularly. As long as I feel like the best version of myself, I’m willing to accept a certain level of risk. Clothes are meant to be worn, after all, and in our household, stain remover has long since become a core member of the family.
What I think worked especially well here is the balance between the romantic shape of the trousers and the overall coolness of the outfit. Unlike the day before, the combination feels intentional.

The long-sleeve top is modern and understated. It doesn’t compete with the trousers but quietly supports them. The softer colour palette creates less contrast, which makes the whole look feel calmer and more cohesive. And the accessories keep everything relaxed and effortless.
The result is exactly the kind of outfit I’m always trying to achieve: feminine, but not precious. Cool, but not overly styled. And comfortable enough to spend an afternoon chasing a child around a playground.
THURSDAY

This outfit was cool in theory. In practice, about three minutes after leaving the house, a summer thunderstorm arrived. My hair was completely soaked, my shoes were drenched, and my jacket looked like it had survived a minor weather event.
Naturally, that is also the exact moment you run into your very stylish friend at the supermarket, who gives you a look that is equal parts concern, sympathy, and “rough day?” That said, I’ll give myself some grace here. I threw this outfit on in approximately two seconds because I was running late. Under those circumstances, I actually think it’s perfectly fine. Not groundbreaking, not particularly memorable, but perfectly fine.
P.s. The soft balloon trousers are new to my wardrobe, and in the first edition of Proof of Purchase, I styled them four different ways to see if they truly earned their place.
FRIDAY

Ah, I was back in my groove after the previous day’s rain-induced chaos. I took my best friend out for our annual birthday ritual: a pedicure followed by brunch. Taking a day off for it felt both wonderfully luxurious and completely natural at the same time. She’s my soulmate in friend form, and some traditions deserve a place in the calendar no matter how busy life gets.
The weather has been deeply confusing lately. You’re freezing in the shade and sweating the second you step into the sun, which made this layered combination – a long-sleeve with a tank underneath – absolutely perfect.

And can we talk about the shoes? I am hopelessly in love with my new mesh ballet flats.

In the evening, I changed outfits and headed to the pop-up opening of my friend Kristina Hellhake for Sabrina Meijer's brand Reyèm.
I was determined to wear my Vinted pumps, and I have to say, I’m very pleased with how they worked with the brown tailored trousers. The combination feels polished without being too serious – exactly the sort of outfit I love for events where you want to look put together but still like yourself.
And yes, another touch of red. At this point, I doubt anyone reading this 7 Days 7 Ways is surprised. The real star, though, was the silk mesh top. I hadn’t worn it in far too long, which feels slightly ridiculous in hindsight because it’s the perfect layering piece. Throw it over a simple tank top and suddenly the entire outfit feels intentional, interesting, and a little special.
SATURDAY
Saturday was a playground day. The kind where you spend the entire day outdoors, eat overpriced bagels for breakfast, clean sticky hands with wet wipes every fifteen minutes, and push a swing for what feels like several consecutive business days. In other words: peak parenting.
Amazingly, my trousers survived almost the entire day without incident. A small miracle, really. But then came the second ice cream of the day. Strawberry, naturally. Followed immediately by an overwhelming desire for cuddles from my son. Game over.
By the way, leaving the house with wet hair in the morning is the ultimate sign that summer has arrived.
SUNDAY

And then came Sunday, featuring even more holiday preparations (including the thrilling task of washing white long-sleeves), writing this Substack edition, a picnic in the park with a friend, and, naturally, another ice cream stop on the way home. The weather remained completely undecided. Freezing in the shade, scorching in the sun.
This long-sleeve practically winked at me from the wardrobe that morning. I’ve owned it for eight months and somehow never worn it once. Part of the reason I bought it is admittedly a moment of weakness: my son owns the exact same one. Opportunities for mother-son matching outfits are surprisingly rare. Anyway, I suddenly thought it looked cool.
A little bit Los Angeles. The sort of thing I could imagine Courtney wearing while casually carrying a tiny bedazzled handbag and see-through Christoper Esber flip flops. At least, that’s the story I told myself.
That's it for this week's outfits. Now tell me: which look did you like best? And more importantly, is there anything you're tempted to recreate yourself? Meet me in the comments.
