The hunt for the perfect winter boots continues...
.. this time, we’re styling a variety of looks!
Disclaimer: This post is a collaboration with Aeyde, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I’ve been a fan since day one – and I still vividly remember my silver boots from one of their first collections nearly 10 years ago.
If you thought this newsletter would put an end to the winter boots saga, think again! My unsuccessful quest for the Gucci boots has left me in need of alternatives. And since my last newsletter had me stumbling across Aeyde’s shoes more than once, I decided to team up with them for this edition.
Step Into Winter: The Hunt for the Perfect Cold-Weather Boots
Here’s what you can expect from this issue
Together, we’re diving into styling different winter boots! Which pair is the most versatile? Which one wins on comfort? And – most importantly – which one did I end up keeping? Let’s find out!
What this newsletter is all about:
I’ll show you a variety of Aeyde styles.
Together, we’ll figure out which boots pair best with pants, skirts, or denim
At the end, you’ll find a few outfit inspirations from me featuring (warm!) winter looks with the boots in question
And of course, I’ll reveal which pair of boots I chose and why!
Harriet Leather Ankle Boots
Right now, I’m feeling much more drawn to square or pointed-toe boots than round ones. That’s why this boot is an absolute staple for me when it comes to a versatile winter shoe. It seamlessly transitions from playground duty to professional meetings. The heel height is just right – not too high, not too low – making it perfectly practical for everyday wear.
Kara Leather Cowboy Ankle Boots
For me, leopard and snakeskin prints are basically neutrals in my wardrobe. What does that mean? You can easily mix them with other patterns (like stripes), and they add texture to even the simplest winter outfit.
Hester Leather Cowboy Boots
I wouldn’t describe my style as elegant – it’s always more laid-back and casual. There’s always something in my outfit that offsets pieces like blazers and co. In this case, it’s the cowboy boots. With their all-black design, they’re still sophisticated and understated, but they add just the right amount of edge to an outfit – more so than the first black looks I picked out for styling.
Luis Leather Cowboy Ankle Boots
Since I’m currently obsessed with all things brown, a chocolate-toned pair was a must for my selection. With their slightly square toe and chunky heel, they’re super cool and casual, grounding any outfit in a stylish way.
One Boot, Two Different Styles
Canadian Tuxedo + Snake

When I told a friend I was writing a newsletter about my most-worn pieces of 2024, she immediately said, "Your denim set must be in there." She was absolutely right – this set remains one of my best purchases of the year. I especially love pairing the deep indigo blue with beige-black snakeskin boots and brown accessories. Swap the T-shirt for a sweater, throw on a coat, and you've got the perfect everyday outfit.
Snake + Satin Skirt
A snakeskin boot doesn’t just work as a neutral – it can also be the standout piece in an outfit, and this look is the perfect example. I’m not wearing skirts as much these days – and short ones only with knee-high boots – but I absolutely love pairing ankle boots with a satin skirt.
Brown + Light Colours
You definitely won’t freeze in this outfit. White jeans are almost more of a winter staple for me than a summer one. Paired with brown accessories and boots, the light sweater and white tapered jeans feel perfectly grounded and cozy.
Brown + Denim
If you’ve been paying close attention to this newsletter, you’ll recognize the Toteme jacket. I decided to keep it, and paired with the brown boots, it’s my ultimate no-brainer outfit – just add almost any sweater, and you’re good to go.
Elegant Office Attire
This year, I’ve rediscovered my love for tailored trousers, and this black wool pair has been on heavy rotation ever since. Paired with sleek black pointed boots, they’re the perfect foundation for ANY outfit – whether it’s more casual with a T-shirt and denim jacket or completely business-like with a blazer or this polo knit sweater.
Gold Accessories + Black
Even though I often imagine I’m living in Los Angeles when I get dressed in the morning, my mind just as often wanders to Paris. With gold accessories and wide-leg jeans, this look feels perfect for a coffee date or an evening dinner.
Cowboy Boots + Cropped Denim
Cropped jeans are a rare sight this winter, but they can actually be a total staple in slushy weather – and they show off more of our boots! Paired with a floor-length wool coat and an oversized cashmere sweater, I feel completely comfortable rocking the shorter jeans.
Brown Suit + Black Boots

The idea that brown and black don’t go together is a total myth. These two colors are best friends, and I’ll definitely be wearing my brown suit with a black belt and black cowboy boots on repeat. I love the contrast – it adds so much more depth to the look than brown or cream accessories ever could.
The Boots I Finally Kept:
This newsletter marks the end of my quest for black, pointy boots because ... drumroll, please ... I decided to keep the Hester cowboy boots! With their flat heel, they’re comfy, casual, and caught my eye from the start. So, the hunt for a brown pair continues – but hey, maybe I don’t need to fulfill all my wishes this winter. Instead, I’ll practice some patience until the 100% perfect pair crosses my path. Honestly, I’m a little proud of myself for resisting those snakeskin styles from Aeyde. You too, right?!
A special thanks goes to Janine Sametzky – longtime friend, confidant, and the best photographer by my side for the past 11 years!
